FC Halifax Town manager Billy Heath showed his disappointment after the Dagenham and Redbridge game in his post-match interview. He believed that his side didn’t do enough to get anything out of the game which sawthe Shaymen lose their first game away from home this campaign.

“There we’re not many positives that we can take out of the day, the second best every department and we were beaten by the better side over 90 minutes”, Heath said.

The former North Ferriby manager spoke about his sides inability to stop the Dagenham and Redbridge playing but did not deny that Dagenham played a good game against his FC Halifax Town side.

“I won’t deny that Dagenham are not a good team because they are but we let them play today which should not have been so easy for them.”

“We let them get too far ahead in the game and we cannot afford this to happen, we should be doing better than that and the lads know it.”

“We have to do better with the goals that we have let in. With the first one we can’t be done on a set piece, we’ve worked on it. The second goal, I think the lad was offside. I could be wrong but that was my initial thought and I’m sorry if I am but he looked off to me.”

The gaffer thought there was a definite improvement in the second half as it seen Town create more chances than they did in the first half. As well as a Matty Brown goal which only proved to be a consolation goal in the end for the travelling contingent away supporters who made the trip down to Victoria Road.

“The second half was better. Matty Brown scores and Dents has a good chance but the Keller has got lucky with the ball hitting his knee first, if that goes in then it makes things very interesting but it just wasn’t to be and we move on to Bromley on Saturday.”

Heath will now have a full week with his side to prepare his side for the next game at home to Bromley when he will hope for a response.

“I will have two decent sessions with the lads before Saturday to get them ready and we will aim to bounce back in the best feasible way.”

Town are next in action at the MBi Shay Stadium on Saturday 23 September. Come along and see the lads bounce back in fashion!

If you cannot make the match it will be available to you on air fifteen minutes or so before kick-off, live commentary of FC Halifax Town V Bromley.
