This weekendโ€™s fixture will see last seasonโ€™s National League North winners, AFC Fylde, travel to the MBI Shay Stadium. The Coasters came out victorious in both clashes last season with lethal hit man Danny Rowe the difference in the 1-0 win for his side at the Shay towards the end of last year. This is one of the reasons he will be the focus of this weekโ€™s player spotlight.

This one goal added to Roweโ€™s very impressive goal scoring tally of last year. The deadly finisher managed an outstanding 47 league goals helping his side to lift the league trophy at the end of the season and gain automatic promotion.

In the 3-2 win for Fylde at Mill Farm last season, Rowe also made a big impact on the game. Fifteen minutes in Rowe hit a thunderous, trademark free kick from 40 yards which Drench could save. It was also Roweโ€™s strike that was turned in by Halifax defender Daniel Hone. The striker also came close on many other occasions. Rowe didnโ€™t just trouble the Shaymen defenders; as he headed Tom Dentonโ€™s overhead kick off the line, denying the big striker his second of the game.

It wasnโ€™t just last season where Rowe was a menace for defences throughout the league. Scoring 24 and 26 the two seasons before is an achievement at any level of the game. This means that AFC Fyldeโ€™s goal machine has managed 97 league goals in the last three seasons for the club.

Rowe has also managed to continue his goal scoring at a higher level at the start of this year. Although not as prolific, the striker has bagged two goals so far and will always remain a threat in any league.

The 27-year-old finished the 2016 calendar year with more goals then the worldโ€™s best players. With 55 goals from the start of January to the end of December the Non-League striker hit the back of the net more times than Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

As a youngster Rowe was at Manchester United, but unfortunately for him was released at the age of 16. He lined up with the likes of Tom Cleverley and James Chester in the academy but couldnโ€™t carry on with the 13 times Premier League winners.

Rowe has also lined up alongside the likes of former FC Halifax Town striker, now England international and Premier League winner Jamie Vardy at Fleetwood. While also pairing Watford striker Andre Gray, then with Luton.

You can watch FC Halifax Town take on Danny Rowe and AFC Fylde at the MBi Shay Stadium this Saturday on the 2nd of September.
