Heath Disappointed With First Defeat

FC Halifax Town manager Billy Heath came away disappointed after witnessing his side slip to their first defeat of pre-season at Alfreton Town.

Apart from a positive opening 25 minutes, Heath felt his side didn’t compete well enough in their 1-0 defeat to a Billy Priestley header early in the second half.

After travelling to Gainsborough just 2 days previously, the Shaymen boss felt fatigue played a part in a lack of sharpness, especially throughout the second-half where a stop-start game killed any attacking impetus.

Heath gave updates on knocks to keeper Sam Johnson and Adam Morgan who were both forced off at the Impact Arena.

The manager is looking forward to Town’s first pre-season test of Football League opposition as Rochdale visit the MBi Shay Stadium on Tuesday, a 7:45pm kick-off.
