This coming weekend sees the annual WorldNet tournament in which 64 supportersโ€™ teams from all over the world compete to become the world champions. This year the event will be held at Nottingham University and both the Vets and the Open age tournament will be held on the same weekend. AFC Halifax have won both tournaments twice and will be entering a team in each competition. The Vets will be looking to bounce back after last yearโ€™s semifinal defeat to Everton but face a tough looking group on the Saturday with the likes of Oxford, Brentford, Stockport and reigning champions Everton. Gaffer John Barker has readied his troops for what always proves to be a fantastic weekend.

He will also be keeping a close eye on his Open age squad who will be managed this weekend by Ben Fawkes and captain Adam Ramsden. They too have been handed a tough group and face games against Man City, Stevenage, Wimbledon and RC Lens.

The format for WorldNet is eleven a side, with games consisting of 2 15-minute halves. The top 2 teams in the group progress to the knockout stages the following day whereas those finishing below that enter a plate competition. The games are played in a fantastic spirit with all supporters mingling amongst each other representing the club they love. Whatever happens on Saturday, it will prove to be a fantastic weekend once again.
